Visited for the first time and found the place to be friendly, warm and serving a good pint of ale. Going be the comments from a while back there has a lot of effort gone into this pub and now should hold its own very well!

The Essex Serpent, Covent Garden

A top find in a swamp of tarted up bars. This place always seems to have a friendly crowd and well kept beer.

Gordon's Wine Bar, Charing Cross

Went in here after walking past many a time and wondering just what was through that door. An extremely pleasant surprise waited inside - knowledgable, friendly staff, interesting selection of snacks and wide selection of wine at reasonable prices. "Caves" that go back under the street were totally unexpected. Definitely a place to visit if you already haven't, and one you'll probably go back to.
