Hermitage Inn, Morpeth

Jennings outlet, so no surprises with the ale. Best Bitter, Cocker Hoop, Cumberland Ale and Snecklifter and all in fine form. Friendly staff. Didn't eat here but food looked good and the menu seemed interesting.

Masons Arms, Morpeth

Stayed in Warkworth recently (what a beautiful village, by the way) and came in here most days. Beer decent and a good choice of ales, though not very adventuroius. A couple of Theakston pumps rotating between Old Peculier, Lightfoot and XB, Deuchars IPA, Caledonian Flying Scotsman, and probably another I can't remember. I would have liked to see some local brews though. Food alternated between excellent and average. Speaking to a local lady it depends on which chef is on duty. I found the best food was on Fri/Sat/Sun if it helps. Excellent bar and waiting staff, all friendly and helpful.

The Airport Pub, Manchester Airport

Called here on Spring Bank holiday Monday after hearing about it from friends. Firstly, it's not really my type of pub - large beer garden full of kids, bouncy castle, afternoon DJ etc. However, I thoroughly enjoyed myself here. The beer was good (and not overpriced) and the staff were friendly and attentive, especially the car park attendant. But we went to watch the planes, and they didn't let us down. A fantastic experience and I'll definatey be going again, though maybe on a quieter day. I have no kids, but if I had I'd bring them here every week, they would love it!
