White Swan Inn, Holcot

Wonderful pub and even better hosts. They kept the kitchen open for an extra hour for us. Provided us with towels (a group of 18 cycling in the rain). The menu was tempting and the food superb. 3 ales on tap (the phips ipa was perfect, the miss Russia not to my taste). There's a pool table and bar skittles. Excellent service and wonderfully welcoming.

The Hartley, Bermondsey

All the windows are boarded up at the moment (9th June 2009). Not sure whether it's closed or being refurbished.

The George, Balham

Revamped and reopened. The interior is modern but one of the better examples of a refit (as opposed to the nearby Duke of Devonshire - Good God what have they done). Most importantly the selection of beers they had on when I visited was excellent; Landlord (which I believe is always on) with Doom Bar and Butcombe. Friends of mine who had eaten there earlier in the evening said that the food was a little hit and miss but the service was excellent.
