The Elusive Camel, Victoria

Ok it's not great.. but does play the football and not many places in the area do, so worth a mention.. also there are benches to sit outside in the summer, which is fine for a quick pint.

St Stephens Tavern, Westminster

I had to post a review as I love this pub! It does get v busy, but wait 10-15mins and you can always get a seat. Good old-style pub, strong ale selection, tradditional food menu. Mixture of civil servants, tourists and mates just out for a decent pint and a catch up.. you can see Big Ben from the window and pre-empt the call for 'time at the bar'!

The Waterway, Maida Vale

I went here yesterday evening with 4 girlfriends. The pub is a modern gastro, with a compact drinks and restaurant terrace, with a clean and chucky wood inside-decor. The location is great, so it was a shame about the bar staff and customers- we had a v disappointing experience. The manager in the main restaurant was so rude we left without even ordering any food- taking our money elsewhere. The bar staff were so slow and unfriendly we only bothered with one drink and the customer base is v 'Hoxton-esque' champagne drinking, 'over-paying for bad wine' drinking trendies. Say no more!
