The Walmer Castle, Kemptown

Well Mr Robin Day, 3 out of 4 pumps working - that's dreadful isn't it? 1 out of 4 pumps not working - shameful. Pale, yellowish beer - that'll be summer ale then eh? Fancy serving that at this time of year. I was in the Walmer last night for a few snifters with the irregular regulars, Ricky Doodle, Professor Sir Rob Lord Emanuel, Roger The Pirate Chef, Fake Gyllenhaal, Compo etc., (no Mop and Gripper - they're in Bulgaria drinking pale, yellowish beer) and out of the 4 pumps Mr Fitzsimons, our ever genial host, along with his charming bar ladies, Amy and Katie, were cheerfully and efficiently producing, Hop Idle, Liquid Gold, Becks Vier, Kronenbourg, some organic lager whose name escapes me, Brooklyn, 5a.m. Saint, Dead Pony, Stowford Press, and another top flight cider I can't remember - dementia I think (me, not the cider - it'll come to me later) and Guiness. All from 4 pumps - bleeding miraculous ain't it. No wonder your date never turned up you miserable git. Aspalls Cider - told you I'd remember. Pip Pip
