The Monks Walk, Beverley

A nice pub that has not been spoiled by unnecessary modernisation. A decent selection of ales and beers and I have no complaints about quality. Been here a few times and always an essential stop on any tour of Beverley's real ale offerings.

The Half Moon, Elloughton

More of a restaurant than a pub really. I've been in quite a few times for food while visiting relatives and I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone in the main bar who is just drinking. There is a pool room at the back that is a bit seedier than the main bar and does often have a few people drinking and playing pool.

The bar staff are friendly and the service is good. Eaten several times and have no complaints about the food, a good mix of traditional pub fare and some more imaginative specials, as well as some Thai food.

Agree that there is a slightly older demographic than might be expected!

The Red Lion, Kings Heath

Went here to see a folk gig. Very odd to find a folk band upstairs in a chain type pub like this! Beer was OK, some guest ales on that were perfectly passable.

I doubt I would come here again just to drink though, very similar atmosphere to any chain pub - i.e. not a lot!
