The Bromilow Arms, Lostock

I've visited this alehouse on three occasions and have found it most welcoming.Located a stones throw away from Bolton Wanderers FC 's Reebok Stadium it offers the ideal pre-match experience.A reasonable selection of locally brewed ales were on offer and I enjoyed both of the two pints I consumed - as a Southerner I enjoyed the prices too! Clearly not designed as a gastro outlet this pub has a basic food menu,but the service is quick and the fayre is perfectly adequate.A cosy,covered smoking area is complemented by a TV in a handily placed window.Well worth a visit.

The Fountain, New Malden

Further to my comments of 21/1/09,it should be noted that two mass brawls have taken place on the last two Fridays here in this charming establishment.Why,even the landlady had to waddle downstairs and tell them to simmer down,as it was putting her off her dinner.I know the previous landlord wasn't everyones cup of tea(including mine),but he knew how to keep a big pub in order.Just being downstairs with his public was three quarters of the battle,whereas the current incumbent is spotted less often than a central heating repair man.The gents convenience is still a disgrace,but possibly slightly less damp than before Christmas.Niagara Falls becomes Lake Windermere perhaps...

The Fountain, New Malden

Oh dear.Oh dear oh dear.This alehouse goes from bad to worse.If you're lucky enough to get served,you'll find a lukewarm reception awaits you every time.Motivation must be hard for a barperson,but surely regulars deserve some sort of attention.Sadly though they are more interested in their mobile phones.The gents toilets have resembled Niagara Falls for at least 6 months now and the excuses are a little wafer thin(unlike the landlady's posterior).The central heating system,unlike the bar staff,seems to have a mind of it's own.Boiling in the summer and freezing in the winter.On the plus side,the food is cheap and should thaw out within 2 hours of serving.I would recommend this pub to very stupid people,Chelsea supporters and Sun readers only.Stay away.
