definitely not an attractive pub but friendly bar staff. older irish crowd but can be packed to the rafters with young irish people from across north london when the wolfe tones or someone similar comes to play...

El Comandante - great Latin American bar, with Castro and Guevara posters galore. Often a Stop the War poster or similar up too.
Come here for a laid back Latin night...perfect...

The Flask, Highgate
Lovely old pub, part of Highgate's village feel. Lots of different rooms, seating within the old lower bar and a strange 'tunnel' room and space outside. Lovely mulled wine in winter, barbecues in the yard in summer.
Only problem is that it get's way too busy, but just a sign of its popularity. Best way to get around that is just arrive early to get your table and stay all day...
