The Boatman, Guildford

Being an eternal optimist, have been to this pub hoping for good food and good service on several occasions . Have been disappointed each time. Food is ok but very, very overpriced. Had a pasta (approx �10?) which tasted of nothing much but boiled pasta. But otherwise, food is passable.
The service, however, is atrocious. For such an expensive place, it's ridiculous that we can't start a tab as there is no table service. There was a long queue at the bar to order food, yet the manageress just stood there watching her staff struggle rather than pitch in and help.
I work locally and will now actively make sure that I avoid this pub in it's current form.
