L'Aviso, Saint Malo

It's the only beer-centred bar in the Intra-Muros with more than 300 beers from round the world, but majoring on Breton microbrews (natch) and all the famous Belgians. There's a joke in there struggling to get out... It's tucked away in a sidestreet away from the main touristy areas, which is a Good Thing.

The Duke of Cambridge, Battersea

People have complained about the service, which may be valid as they have a high turnover of staff, but I think the landlord's pretty clued up. They had great (if slightly pricey) breakfasts here for the Lions tour last year, and while they don't always have the full range of Youngs what they have is in good nick and it's a nice, cosy place to relax over a pint or two.

Ye Old Mitre, Holborn

Love the old-fashioned uniforms for the bar staff. Great pub though made up of lots of tiny rooms so had to shiver outside the evening I went.
