Profile information

I go to pubs for the experience as much as the beer - I like to see individuality, history preserved, interesting features and quirky characteristics. Pubs that have held an important place in the community are very important. There's also something about the 'spit and sawdust boozer' that does it for me. A pub that serves it purpose. Good real ales are a must, preferably with a rotating guest and a local drop if possible.

The Noose and Monkey, Aberdeen

Seemed alright when I was in, nothing spectacular. Strange colour scheme, red and blue everywhere. Didn't dislike anything about it.

The Howff, Aberdeen

Like drinking in a Welshmans living room (which isnb't necessarily a bad thing). Friendly, screens for the footy, decent beer, underground location makes it pretty cosy in the winter. Wouldn't want to spend a sunny afternoon in here mind.

The Frankenstein, Aberdeen

Good for the football. That's about it (unless you like your pubs to resemble a mid 90's ghost train). 3.30 for a pint of San Miguel!! Seems pretty friendly mind.
There isn't much up that end of Union Street that's any better to be fair.
