The Sunrunner, Hitchin

Its a good job that this site points out that the comments posted shouldnt be taken to seriously.

Gate crashing a private party is usually regarded as bad manners. If centre visited the Sunrunner on the day their comment was posted the party in question was a funeral which was very clearly signposted that the pub was not open to the general public.

As for being rude to disabled people this is an offensive comment. Whilst the outlay of the building is not really suited to those with a disability such as being in a wheelchair (It is a 17th century building, it doesnt cater too well for people over 6ft in height either). The staff always go out of their way to accommodate those who need help. If they were seen to treat disabled people with such disrespect no one would drink there.

It is amazing that centre is able to post such a detrimental comment based upon gate crashing a private party. It is also hard to contact people who have had a bad experience when the hide their profile.

The Cock Hotel, Hitchin

A long narrow pub which is typically Green King in it's apperance. This being comfortable and well kept. Standard GK beers on tap with a wide range of alternative drinks on offer. I was reasonably impressed with the new menu and the service was very prompt and friendly. The regulars are a good laugh. worth a visit.

Coopers Arms, Hitchin

It's Ok, I must say it's well work a visit. I had a meal here and was happy, they have a good menu and it was good value for money too. My wife didn't rave about it, but we were checking out the competition you try to pick out all the faults.

Admitittadly it was quiet when we visited so i can't knock the service, and the staff were friendly enough.

It does get busy at weekends and when there's sporting events as it still accomidates sky.

The customers are cool as it's a little off the main drag to attract the drunken idiots.

It's one of the oldest pubs in Hitchin and is a beautiful building with an amazing history. Go have a look you could do worse.
