The Sutton Arms, Southend on Sea

Now refurbished and renamed the Cow and Telescope. They've done a good job, nice decor without being over the top and decent beer on sale. Still get the odd 'characters' drinking from morning till night but generally nicer people than when it was the old Sutton Arms. Worth going to watch the bands too. Well worth a visit.

Meadowlark, Southend on Sea

Now turned into a restaurant. They make it clear they don't want people who just want a beer. I was even told I could only sit down in a little cubby hole in the corner. Won't be back. Oh, and the beer's not kept well and the bar staff don't know what they're doing. Bye bye!

Lamb Inn, Devizes

Great place, all a pub should be. Original old interior, friendly staff, full of regulars who are 'characters', great beers all kept well, and a good jukebox too. Full marks.
