Been using The Boars Head in Royston for about 20 years. Seem many changes over the years. Some good others... not so good. Anyway we now have a really friendly pub with a great mix of customers ans staff.

Greene King tenanted pub. Excellent real ales and The Guinness is as good as anywhere this side of The Irish Sea!
Good food and bar snacks. No smoking area. Enthusiastic bar staff

The Air Balloon Inn, Birdlip
Found this pub after stopping off at a Hungry Horse for lunch on the way to Wales. Marked it in SatNav to visit on the way home. Food choice was great and the pub excellent. Only gripe was hikers who dumped their rucksacks around their tsble which required considerable negotiation to surmount. However I've met similar people on London Underground with rucksacks on their backs.
Greene King Abbot is delicious - well kept and well served. Menu is both extensive and challenging (went there on pie week) Food was excellent. Definately a pub to call in again when next in the area
