Real Ale Heaven ! :)

Used to visit as a CAMRA member, but in the end stopped my subs to CAMRA and joined here instead.

Pete has now retired and the Club is run by Ian and Jo, who seem to be doing a sterling job. The beer is as good as ever and the grounds are lovely to enjoy a summer evening's pint in whilst watching the bowling !

The legal challenge by Folke's has been dropped (at least for the forseeable) so the club is back in action.

Heartily recommend a visit... you won't be disappointed !

Suffering from Over Popularity ????

If you enjoy a nice sit down and a quiet chat with your friends over a pint of fine Ale, then I would certainly recommend NOT going to this establishment anywhere near a Friday afternoon/evening.

Good selection of Ales and a snazzy electronic board is all good and well, but if you can't get within 2 metres of the bar due to the collection of patrons sitting at it, and then have to wait 30 mins to get served only to discover that during your delightful wait/fight to get served someone has stolen your seat, it tends to mar the experience slightly.

Maybe I was unlucky on my choice of days to visit, but I think the seating arrangements at the bar should be revised.
Love real Ale..... Hate having to fight to get to it.
But then again that is probably why I tend to avoid Birmingham.
