The Fighting Cock, Bradford

Visited at 1pm on Saturday. A dozen people in. No music on, but Sky Sports was. No-one was interested in it, however.

This is a pub of the kind rarely found these days: hard floors, lousy decorations, tatty furniture etc etc...but unique and laden with atmosphere. Its years since I was last in, but immediately felt welcome.

Knowledgeable bar staff who guided me to exactly what I wanted from a range of largely unfamiliar beers (Taylor's well represented, but avoided them). The beer was and remains well-kept and served at eaxcly the right temperature (slightly cool, but not cold enough to impair the flavour)

Restriced menu but went for the chilli, which was unusual but delicious.
