Open 7pm to 10.30pm Mon to Sat, 12pm to 3pm Sat and Sun. Tiny friendly pub with two keg bitters, Fosters and bottled craft ales. Is also tourist information centre and newsagent.

The North Star, Leytonstone

Much has already been said; Friendly local, warm landlord and staff, excellent beer always in good condition, I particularly liked and concur with the Narnia comment, interesting juke-box. Extensive renovations and redecorations have made it roomier and after a brief affair with What's Cookin music promotions they are now experimenting with a young chef. He's very, very good! The menu, although limited is interesting and the food is excellent whilst reasonably priced. Worth coming early for a meal and staying for many beers in excellent surroundings. The regular injections of calm and good beer keep me sane (although some would argue the point!)
