The Plough, Smallford

Yep have to agree a really lovely pub that looks like pubs did years ago before the chains and the food brigade moved in !! Very warm and convivial atmosphere with an interior that wouldn't look out of place in a dickens novel !

Having mentioned the food - our lunch was fabulous. price about right wouldn't say cheap, and good portions.

I had a couple of pints of Tribute which was absolutely spot on - could have drunk it all day ! One of the best pints I've had for a very long time !

Only thing that stops me awarding top marks is the rather miserable woman who 'greeted' us behind the bar - a smile would have been nice or maybe just a little less surliness. However landlord made up for it.

Nice pub - will go back !

The Ostrich Inn, Colnbrook

Isn't it very odd that the last 2 positive reviews were written with exactly the same style putting capital letters all over the place in the middle of sentences !!!!

So I think we can safely dismiss them as an inside job !!

"The chef trained at Claridges" - lol that really made me chuckle.

The Castle, Olney

Finally put out of its long and painful misery and now closed !!

Soon to open as the Spice Garden indian restaurant !
