The Ramblers Rest, Chipstead

Once upon a time this was a halfway decent (if a little soul less) pub/restaurant. Not any more.... I hadn't been in for a while but called in today (Sunday) for a couple of pints whilst out walking the dog.

Despite the fact that the place was (reasonably) quiet (it used to be packed on a Sunday) I have to say that the service is truly dreadful and the drinks are so overpriced, it's ridiculous.... £7.75 for a glass of Pinot Grigio!!! Can you believe it?

Real shame as it's within walking distance of my home but the nearby White Hart has a much better atmosphere and a wider range of ales too. Hardly any wonder that there are no 'locals' at the RR's bar.

Unless you really enjoy waiting around and/or being ignored or you're one of the millionaires from nearby Kingswood with more money than sense, go somewhere else.

Check out their website for details of their 'sister' pubs. If the 'Ramblers' is anything to go by, they're probably worth avoiding too.
