The High Brooms Tavern, High Brooms

Whilst this pub isn't what a lot of people would call a "conventionally good" pub it is certainly one of the last of a dying breed and deserves a visit. The ale's well-kept (though a limited choice) but the main point of a visit would have to be to marvel at the decor, particularly the ceiling furniture (inverted kayak as a lampshade is one example).

It's a marvellously eccentric place and I can't imagine it'll be around for long once the current landlord decides to call it a day...see it while you can!

"Diddley-Diddley" folk evening last Thursday of every month (Dec 2009 excepted) is also worth going along to for an "old fashioned folk club" flavour!
