Very much a local village pub, with a good atmosphere but the landlord described this as "a drinkers' pub" - only sandwiches available, even on Sunday. Limited opening hours.

The Red Lion, Swaffham Prior

Called here at noon and again at about 5.00 p.m. last Friday whilst out cycling. Enjoyed the lighter Batemans option available. A nice homely, unpretentious atmosphere, with a friendly reception behind the bar. Slightly disappointed not to have any snacks other than crisps etc. in the evening, but I was the only patron there at that time of the afternoon so I wouldn't expect the kitchen to be in action.
