The Maltings, York

Had a very enjoyable lunchtime in the Maltings. Top class ale and the boozy steak pie (which is very boozy) was bloody gorgeous.

The Grand Junction Arms, Harlesden

Being located closed to factories and offices means that the pub has a very mixed clientele and is, thankfully, a million miles away from a gastropub. Had a very nice homemade bacon cheeseburger, washed down by a well-kept pint of Youngs London Gold.

On the minus side; theres a surfeit of sofas and high chairs/tables, at the expense of proper tables and chairs, and the jukebox kept playing ten seconds of a song before skipping to something else; making it the pub equivalent of an irritating kid at the back of the bus, fiddling with their phone.

The Railway Tavern, Nuneaton

Nice pub, good ales. Popped in for a pint while changing trains, wanted to come back the following day but it was shut due to the EDL march...and I thought they were trying to protect the english way of life ;-)
