The Chequers, Barkingside

Possibly been taken over since the last spat of reviews, this pub is light, bright and airy and sports really nice theme throughout. Visited for the first time today and whilst prices are a little high (£3 for a point of diet Coke) I'll probably be back.

A note of food, there was a gentleman on my way in eating what looked like a delicious pepperoni pizza.

The Sack of Potatoes, Gosta Green

Not a bad pub, as has been said previously staff are pretty sound. Food sometimes takes a while to arrive in busy periods but for the most part it can be forgiven. The only downside is its one of Mitchell & Butler's Town pubs - but again, easily forgiven.

The Gunmakers Arms, Birmingham

This the Gunmakers have closed down now. Last time I was in there I was talking to the landlord and he was being evicted apparently; wanted to buy the place of Mitchell & Butler but they wouldn't give him a fair price so he stopped buying beer of them and then stopped paying the rent! Shame though, was a nice pub - if only atmospherically rather than aesthetically.
