Lord Hood, Greenwich

When I retire, or get the sack, I shall be visiting this pub every Thursday Lunch-time I can. I went there originally for the jazz music that is played there.
The food is good value for money. I don't see the point in cooking a breakfast when I can get chicken mash and veg., for 3., as a breakfast and for another 3., Scampi Chips and Salad as a dinner. I only drink 'real ales' and though not a fond lover of Courage Best, I find that the hand pump beer served here is very acceptable. I wouldn't drink it if it wasn't and at 2.50p. I'm not complaining.
The jazz is played ith enthusiasm. The bar staff serve you with enthusiasm, and I find the clientele, bar staff and the musicians that play there, very freindly.
May nothing, on my days off, stop me on my pilgrimage to the Lord Hood Thursday lunchtimes. This is a proper pub that looks like a pub and it has been saved from demolition and it is a pity that other worthy pubs have been destroyed.
If you like this sort of thing, then pay the Lord Hood a visit Thursday Lunchtime. Also do not forget Friday Lunchtime. There is another good jazz band playing there as well.
