The Plough Inn, Marsh Gibbon

Friendly, Family Pub. Called before our visit to check they were family friendly and was advised yes, everyone welcome, large garden including play area and good childrens menu. We weren't disappointed, lovely welcome by the land lady and the landlord (who is also the chef) cooked up some lovely traditional pub grub. The setting is a little shabby chic but a great little british pub! Will definately be back!

The Fox and Hounds, Ardley

This is a good old fashioned family run pub (not many of those left!) The welcome you get is warm and the bar staff can't do enough for you. We take our 2 and a half year old here quite often and she loves it, the staff always talk to her, in fact one day she asked for cucumber for her dinner and they bought her some on a plate while we conviced her to chose something from the menu!

The food is yummy, all home cooked and good portions, the pie in particular is knock out, in fact my husband has the same thing every time we go. The steaks are really nice, good cuts of meat cooked just as you like them.

The decour is just what you would imagine for an old fashioned pub but that is all part of its charm, they do have outside seating as well as the bar area and resaurant. Would definitely recommend this pub for it's good service and even better food.

The Butchers Arms, Fringford

Visited this pub recently with my husband and 2 and a half year old daughter. On walking in it seemed to be very much a pub for villagers, the bar stools were taken by locals enjoying an early evening drink and noone wanted to move to let us order drinks. We gave our drinks order over the heads of the people sitting down, but the bar lady seemed to see us as an interuption to her evening! She even huffed when I asked her what flavour J20's they had. We noticed that the lights to the back restaurant were off so enquired whether they were serving food, to which we got the response "we will be yes", no indication was given as to when that evening we would be able to order, we weren't even given a menu to look at while we had a drink. We took our drinks to a table inside then noticed the signs saying "children must remain seated at all times", now I have a VERY well behaved daughter but wouldn't expect her to stay sitting down throughout an evening out. We took our drinks outside, then left as soon as we could. The general feeling we had was that this is not a place either for visitors to the village, or to children. A warmer welcome definitely needed to ALL of its customers.
