you know what I remember this place now…it's where the landlord was accused of being racist and abusing female customers http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/outrage-as-brixton-pub-landlord-blacks-up-to-host-ku-klux-klan-themed-party-9840054.html I understand they've been popular as a late night party pub in recent years, but last time I went it wasn't really a place for a quiet drink in the daytime. Drinks were pretty poor last time I went in, from what I remember. Half the stuff they had on tap was off/unavailable and it stank a bit of cleaning fluid. Shame. Was good once.

The Golden Boar Inn, Freckenham

A decent pub ruined by an ar*ehole of a landlord/manager and their bar staff. We were having a quiet drink at the weekend when the manager came out shouting and swearing at this group of people who'd cycled to the pub. He was totally obnoxious and threw these paying customers out of the pub, apparently because they'd asked for some water. We won't be going back! Horrible place with horrible bar staff.

Great pub. Went in here with the girlfriend recently - it was all warm and cosy with log fires, candles and fairy lights. Some good real beer and cider on tap...and a barrel of house red wine! Good staff and friendly locals. Must go back for the food, which looked really nice from the menu up on the wall.
