The Three Cups Inn, Heathfield

Recently visited Three Cups on a recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The chefs, both from Poland, prepared a lovely meal including an asparagus starter with Serrano ham and balsamic glaze and Stilton, entrees for our group: roasted duck, steak mushroom pie, sea bass, roasted pork and fish cakes. All were prepared with care and culinary imagination. The highlight of the meal were the desserts, lemon meringue pie, chocolate cheesecake and a banana-toffee pie. The presentation included stained glass sauces of mango, berry and chocolate with a dusting of sugar, and a crown of clotted cream and a yellow cape gooseberry. As a US-based food writer, I would recommend this pub to anyone in the area. Though it can be difficult to find, Three Cups Inn is worth the drive.
