The Warwick Castle, Maida Vale

Went to this pub yesterday, as I was visiting friends in the area. It was fairly quiet (but this probably something to do with the time and weather when I frequented). i ordrered a pint od Doom Bar, which was fairly decent. I can't remember what else was there as It was only a quick stop. It seemed to have a friendly atmosphere. I would definatley like to sample again, when i have more time to spend.

The Waterway, Maida Vale

I went to this pub yesterday, as I was visiting friends in the area. I was looking for a pub to have a relaxing drink and read my paper. I ordered a Doom Bar from a very disinterested barman. althought this appears to be a place predominantly for eating you can just sit down and have a drink. I really felt the whole atmosphere was stuffy and pretentious. Where the fact I was having a beer and reading a paper @ 12.30 made me some kind of social pariah.
I'm not from this part of London, so maybe i caught it on a bad day, but if i was in the same situation in the future. Then this is not a place I would look to frequent (shame given the location).
