The Pied Bull, Streatham

My partner, his elderly parents and I recently visited this pub on the recommendation of a friend who frequently visits the premises.

On arrival we found ourselves a table for four next to the open fire which was lit and blazing out a lovely amount of heat. On the table there was a small plant and a lit candle along with both food and drink menus. Very convenient.

I went to the bar to order some drinks and ask some questions I had about the menu. I was greeted by a girl (around the age of 18-24) who couldn’t have been more helpful. She suggested a lovely bottle of wine that would compliant the food and discussed at length about the selection of real ales they had to offer. She also asked if I would like a jug of water as well. She then helped me carry the round to our table even though it was busy.

She then came back to the table and took our food order again very helpful considering the pub was busy. When the food arrived we were shocked at how generous the portion sizes were for the money. I order the bangers and mash and my guests ordered the 3 different pies on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious and I just wished I’d saved room for pudding!

The facilities were stocked and the pub was very clean. I noticed the bar maid and her co worker looked like they were sharing a joke with a group of customers and they really looked conformable in there jobs.

This pub is a wonderfully welcoming tradition pub. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable evening. Will defiantly visit again.
