The Castle Of Comfort, East Harptree

Excellent pub - great choice of Real Ales (4 or 5 plus ciders AND all the usual keg suff). Thatchers cloudy on draught. Renowned for it's food. Lively atmosophere with funny (haha), helpful staff. They often run their own mini beer festival - brilliant.

Hunters Lodge, Priddy

Great other-wordly pub - hasn't changed in decades! The antithesis of Berni Inn/Harvester type pubs! Just a few dishes but then �3 for a bowl of chilli & half a loaf is great. There are 3 bars & garden and all the beers (and cider) are in barrels behind the bar.

The Ring of Bells, Compton Martin

Large but friendly family-run pub. Owned by Butcombe - so serves Butcombe Bitter, Blonde & Gold plus a guest beer. Good selection of wines plus an excellent menu - our favourite is the Ring O'Bells Toastie - a good snack for �4 but plenty of local dishes (Butcombe beef & local trout). Four bars and a garden.
