The Selkirk, Tooting

Just returned from having lunch here and yes it is an unexpected Snow Day but no excuses for the lousy service and poor quality of food especially when half of it is blatantly stuck inthe microwave!

We got there, ordered 2 hot chocolates which still hadnt arrived 20 minutes later! We had to remind the barman (who didnt know what the Veggie brekkie had in it and looked at us like we had punched his mum each time we dared to order at the bar). He then still forgot so we had to ask someone else! Our food (bangers and mash and veggie lasagne) arrived after 80 minutes! we got in there when it was empty.

One of the sausages in the b and m was cold and there was no gravy. The lasagne had next to no pasta in it and was swimming in grease. The salad with it was muddy and service appallingly slow. When we complained we were told it was unexpectedly busy due to the weather. Er dont care! It is a big pub and there is no excuse when all they did was fry some bangers and stick something int he microwave.

This place used to be amazing for food up until new management and you guys need to pull your socks up and get happier bar staff who know what they are doing.

Wont be going back.

Oh and it will be another bar/eatery but with different foods not already around in Tooting and much more funky interior and selction of drinks.

Lets just say I (Cheekages' alter ego!)know who has bought it and really its' only competition is the Tram. It will be fab believe me. And re the old clientele...please! I have seen deals done in the loos, round the back and on the street and some of them are notorious as they are now trying it in other bars now it has closed. Also the old trouble makers will be weeded out. Agree The Tram is very cool now so this is gonna try hard to rival it! WhooP!

Seriously, its gonna be great!
