The beer garden is a must in Summer! Relaxed atmosphere. Toilets a bit on the unwashed side, but perhaps I just got there at the wrong time! Decent price & snacks

Decent pint of Pride, lively in the evening but not "in your face".
Friendly staff, I like :)

The Royal Oak, Hillcommon

I must disagree. I guess the new landlords have sorted the place out as it was lovely. Very friendly, good food (best chips I have had - cooked in goose fat!), a thousand times friendlier than the Anchor in Hillfarrance a few miles away, but not quite as nice as the Notley Arms!
