Well even if the quality of the beer and service has improved the quality of the custom base is clearly deteriorating . . .

The Pelton Arms, Greenwich

Since the new ownership there's a definate improvement. I think after years of neglect the place just needed a good shake-up. Friendly and welcoming with lot's going on such as band and themed evenings. The food is good, the music is pleasant and just a few minutes walk from the Thames Path. Would recommend.
