The Greyhound, Keymer

Very nice friendly village pub, good range of beers including Harveys and they do an excellent pint of draught Guinness. Good food, reasonable menu, often supplemented by some good specials on the board and scrumptious range of desserts in the chiller cabinet. One warning however, if your meal comes with gravy it will be pre-applied and your food will be sitting in an ocean of the stuff, thick and dark. My suggestion: please supply a gravy boat and let us apply to our taste!

The Plough, Plumpton Green

Enjoyed a lunch here with some friends, an excellent pint of Harveys means I will certainly be returning. The food was good and wholesome but slightly disappointing. I feel they could, with a little extra effort, take it to a new level. My main criticism is that I consider sauces and relishes to be a personal taste, though I don't dislike thick glutinous gravy neither do I want huge quantities covering my meal. This one let down aside I enjoyed what I had to eat.

The Lamb Inn, Hindon

People, myself included, would love to love this lovely inn but sadly they can't seem to maintain a consistent standard. Myself and my wife have, for many years, regularly stopped for a break in Hindon which is a lovely village. The high point over the last year was one of the best rump steaks I have eaten. Plus another time an excellent sunday lunch where they found us a great table at short notice. We no longer stop at The Lamb for coffee now whereas once, it was served in a cafetiere with a chocolate mint and a smile, now it's slapped down in a cup, tastes like below average instant and we were made to feel we had inconvenienced the girl. I get the impression that a bunch of kids are running an inn as a school project - it all depends how enthusiastic they feel that day. It could be so good - we want to be regulars!
