The Stag, Hastings

I went in this pub recently and recalled that I went to school with the girl behind the bar. She didn't recognise me and was very rude. I had a badly presented half of Shepperd Neame Amber Ale. As a brewery the beers are all pretty bad but the Amber was having an off day like the bar maid. I stood at the bar and she proceeded to scowl and be rude to everyone that came to the bar including the local head of CAMRA, he's a nice guy and seemed not to notice she was rude to him. For beer and customer servcie it has to be 0/10 but for being a lovely old building it gets a point.

Yates's, Hastings

Yates'. If you want a fight, late at night there's only one place to go. Staff can be very rude. Stack em high, sell em cheap type thing. Usual Yates' style crowded, noisy, unfriendly, drunken affair, they can make any place terrible. Avoid it.

White Rock Hotel, Hastings

They have a great selection of beers on most of the time. They often do Dark Star beers which are excellent. Laurence runs the place and he is a very welcoming gentleman who has done sterling work with this place. Bar staff are always friendly and they love dogs too. It used to be the Yelton Hotel, full of beer swilling idots but now it is excellent. Thanks Laurence.
