Aragon House, Parsons Green

Although there are many good things to say about this pub- the highlight for me was certainly the management. The manager himself, more precisely. Greeted with a smile that would end wars, cure gout, beat Labour!- and the experience only got better from there. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was snug in the afternoon and more upbeat in the evening. The decoration is an explosion of gold Rococo magic; deep sofas and high ceilings; all the more dreamy for the array of big brown eyes behind the bar. And it was full of other people who seemed to love the place and treat it like a home from home. A lovely, distinctive, pub, with a touch of extravagance.
