Used to be quaint but grotty. Renovation has greatly improved it. One of the best in London.

The Border Hotel, Kirk Yetholm

Now fully repaired and renovated following the fire. Great food (popular at weekend evenings, best to call and book a table), well-kept beer - easily one of the best pubs in Scotland in my biased opinion!
