The Fox and Hounds, Whittlebury

Myself and a few friends dropped in here for lunch earlier this week. On the door was a Menu which was obviously an evening one, as the prices reflected this. Having enquired inside for their Lunch Menu we were told it's the same as the one on the door. In which case avoid like the plague for lunchtimes. Evenings would be more acceptable but still rather pricey. Needless to say that on our lunchtime visit the venue was completely empty.

The Carpenters Arms, Stewkley

My wife and I visited on a Friday lunchtime. The barman and his wife made no attempt at conversation; the service was extremely slow for food and drinks; neither of them knew details of New Year's Eve Party -2 weeks away; the welcoming feel just wasn't present.
A very poor example of a village pub. Dreadful.
