Great pub under new management, open late, great vibe in the back garden where everyone sits nowadays. Staff can be a bit slow but are getting better, also its quite expensive compared to other pubs in the area. 3.20 for a pint of decent lager.

My least favourite pub in the area. Little or no atmosphere except for the live music on a thursdays. Boring pub which feels cold and unloved.

can be good, beer reasonably priced, live nights also a bonus. My only major gripe with this place would have to be the fact that they seem to hire untrained bar staff that are slow and dont know what they are doing which can make it very unpleasent on a busty night. And don't even think of ordering a cocktail, you will be waiting for a long time

i grew up round there and remember what a reputation the place had for violence, especially from the locals! There are two sections of the pub, the bar and the lounge. Always seemed to be in the lounge as a child, bar was no go! I thought the smoking ban would have killed the place but obviously not. would be interested if anyone else has more memories of the place

good atmosphere sometimes, has had a lof of management changes in the last few years and has been a footie pub for lairy chavs and a gay pub for a short while. pool table crap (cant take a shot from all angles), beer ok. i sometimes use this as a meeting place before moving on to somewhere better. however seem to remember the garden been ok in summer

The Goldsmiths Tavern, New Cross
awful atmosphere, freezing cold in the dancefloor area, rude barstaff (not all but some of the time). Doorstaff aggresive and surly especially when enforcing the no hats or hoody rule, needs a complete change of direction. There was some talk of goldsmiths college buying it a few months ago but it seems like that has falling through. Interesting as goldsmiths owns most of the street
