Browns Cafe Bar, Coventry

I too agree with the boycott of this pub. Having worked for the MOD (albeit as a civilian) I have the utmost respect and admiration for all servicemen and women. It is disgusting and disgraceful that pubs refuse to serve people in uniform, especially given the circumstances involving the group who were refused hot drinks. I've not been in this pub, and never will use it, but am giving it a zero (it's a shame we can't do minuses if not I would have given it at least minus 10).

The George, Slough

I visited yesterday and it was relatively empty. The staff were friendly and polite, and the drink and food were ok.

The Toby Carvery, Langley

I visited yesterday and although the beer (Stella 4% and Tetley extra cold) was good and reasonably priced and the staff were polite, the visit was ruined by people who allowed their children to run around and/or keep screaming. It is unlikely I would come here again.

The Lemon Tree, Covent Garden

On a recent visit I enjoyed a pint of Carlsberg export - I also found it to be a nice pub which I will visit again.

The George, Temple

On a recent visit the Kronenbourg was good and reasonably priced for London (about 3.80 a pint), plus the staff were helpful and polite. I would visit The George again.

The Coal Hole, Strand

I had a couple of enjoyable pints (Kozel and San Miguel) here, plus was told the Suffolk Blonde was good. It became quite crowded but the staff coped ok.

The Three Magpies, Heathrow

I visited The Three Magpies again yesterday (it is now a John Barras pub) and ordered 2 pints of Stella - it is now over 4.00 a pint! Carlsberg extra cold is 3.70 and San Miguel 4.25 a pint! I was told that the brewery are responsible for setting the prices (the staff were quite embarrassed about it) - surely it makes more sense for any brewery to charge prices which are affordable to people rather than set ridiculous prices - the pub was quite empty..Although I like the pub, it is unlikely I will return unless the prices are reduced.

The Star and Garter, Colnbrook

I've now visited the Star and Garter and found the drink and atmosphere ok. Another pub I will visit again.

Ye Olde George, Colnbrook

I've visited Ye Olde George a few times recently, the drink and the food is good (and reasonably priced). I would use Ye Olde George again.

The Red Lion, Colnbrook

Unfortunately it is still closed and boarded up - I don't know whether it is likely to reopen.

20 May 2012 16:11

The Ostrich Inn, Colnbrook

I visited The Ostrich recently and found the drink and food to be good (albeit the food is a bit pricy). The staff were friendly as well.

The Swan Inn, Needham Market

I made the mistake of visiting The Swan last night (despite being warned that the drink was awful there, that's if they actually had any) - after asking for two pints of lager, the landlord pulled about a third of a pint and said there was no more left. Rather than bothering to order something else, I walked out - this is the first time I have every done this. 0/10.

The Plume Of Feathers, Princetown

I recently visited the Plume of Feathers and found the staff to be friendly, the San Miguel was good and the meal I had was excellent. This is another pub I would definitely visit again.

The Forest Inn, Princetown

I recently visited the Forest Inn and enjoyed the San Miguel, although it was expensive at nearly 4.00 a pint. I was told the Otter Ale and Guinness were also good. The meal I had was nice and very filling. I would definitely visit this pub again.

The Red Lion, Colnbrook

The pub is still closed and boarded up, I am trying to find out whether it is going to re-open again.

The Honeycombe (Hungry Horse), Hounslow

The beer is reasonably priced (3:05 for Stella and 3;10 for Guinness) and the Stella was very good - one of the best pints I've had recently (however all pints and half pints are served in plastic glasses). I found the staff to be very polite and friendly - one of the barmaids took the time to apologise for a slight delay while she was serving another customer. I will use this pub again.

The Punch Bowl, Colnbrook

On my last visit the Kronenbourg was a bit flat but the Stella was ok, as was the Guinness & John Smiths.

28 May 2011 15:43

The Star and Garter, Colnbrook

The pub is open again, but I've not had a chance to visit it yet - I'll post a review once I do.

The Three Magpies, Heathrow

Good beer (Kronenbourg, Guinness & John Smiths), albeit a bit on the expensive side (approx 3.60 - 3.70 a pint). The food is good too.

28 May 2011 15:33

The Red Lion, Colnbrook

The pub is currently boarded up (but I have been advised it is being refurbished).

29 Apr 2011 16:19

The Queens Arms, Colnbrook

Whenever I've used this pub, I've found the staff to be friendly and the Stella to be good (I've been in some pubs where it tastes like it has been watered down). Although I appreciate the site is about drink, as an aside the food is also very good.
