O'Neills, Bournemouth

Second, and this time, negative comment. My wife and I visited again on the following Wednesday evening and had 2 problems. The first was the short measured pints of lager ie huge frothy head. The second, and most important to us, was the smokers outside the front door but the doors were propped open and the smoke pouring in. We moved tables to the back of the bar but that didn't help much. We complained to the barmaid who thought she could solve the problem by outstaring us ( but failed). I then went to the manager who explained that the doors were open "to let some fresh air in"!!!!! In all fairness the doors were closed afterwards but beware of having to get past the smookers to get in.

I have 2 comments, one positive and one negative which I will do separately. This is the positive one. My wife and I visited on a Sunday evening, OK no Real Ale but the bar maid was pleasent and welcoming albeit a bit a slow.

Ye Olde George Inn, Christchurch

Several pints of Piddle drunk - well kept. Good, friendly staff who know about their beers! We will be going again.

The Cricketers Arms, Springbourne

We had a great welcome here and the Real Ales well worth the walk to try.

The Crown Inn, Pewsey

The Crown inn now has 6 real ales permanently on.

Also it has now installed a brewery in the pub called "World's End Ales" which sells only in the pub.

(It is also less than 2 minutes easy walk from the station)

The Crown Inn, Pewsey

This is the only CAMRA Good Beer Guide pub in Pewsey!
Always 5 real ales and at least 2 real ciders/perries.

They recently had a great summer solstice beer festival.

A typical British quiet and comfortable pub with a friendly atmosphere. I should know it's my local!
