The George, London Bridge

The location is good and it's worth a quick pint, but as mentioned already it is hard to get served and the beer isn't brilliant.

Wheatsheaf, Southwark

I was impressed with the range of ale, the freindly service and the fact that they could show sport without it feeling intrusive or turning into a sports bar. Definitely worth a visit!

The Southwark Tavern, London Bridge

A good selection of well kept ales, but service really slow. Considering it was a busy Thursday evening, only 2 bar staff appeared to be serving and they were pretty poor at working out who was next.

Rose and Crown, Brockenhurst

The pub could be a lot better. It has an amazing beer garden which I can only imagine gets absolutely packed in summer. Carvery was OK and just about worth the money, despite getting quite a measly portion of meat. Judging on that I wouldn't go back to eat there.

The Foresters Arms, Brockenhurst

Good ale (49er) and a good atmosphere - seems to be a locals' pub which means it does a good trade and there's a buzz about it. Food looked good.

The Spyglass Inn, Ventnor

A nice relaxed meal sat by the sea, but I guess we were lucky to get the weather in October, and I can imagine the chaos when this place is full of tourists in the summer. Food was in my opinion reasonably priced, of a good standard and came in reasonably large portions.

The Wheel Inn, Pennington

I couldn't work it out. Maybe I should have had some Thai food, but I wasn't hungry enough. The beer was in good condition and there is an old-school pub atmosphere in here. It just needs to be made a little more inviting somehow...

The Kings Head Inn, Lymington

The beer was fine, and the inside has a quirky kind of feel about it. With the big TVs and 'brasserie' style seating mixed with large chesterfields I don't think this pub really knows what it is though...

The Hare and Hounds, Sway

Good Ringwood ales accompanied by some very good food. There's also a good atmosphere about this place, unlike so many of the annoyingly common New Forest tourist holes.

The Rising Sun, Wooton

The beer is good, but the food a little pricey and 'standard' pub, i.e. nothing special.

The White Hart, Chipstead

Had a very nice and not-to-overly priced bar meal in here, and the beer was well kept. Will go back if I'm in the area - had a nice feel about it.

The Griffin, Brentford

The bar staff did a good job serving the busy crowd of football goers with reasonably kept ale. Overall seemed like a nice place to have a beer.

The Eclipse Inn, Winchester

I have always enjoyed visits to the Eclipse. Friendly staff, reasonable ales and a nice feel to the place.

The Old Vine, Winchester

We were lucky to find a table in here without a reservation one friday evening. The staff were pleasant, the food very nice indeed and a good range of ales. Yes, it's a bit pretentious but the food and ale is good enough to overcome that.

The Queen Inn, Winchester

Attended the recent wine festival which was a refreshing change and would have gone back for the beer festival if I was around. Friendly staff and nice looking food. Will be going back.

The Black Boy, Winchester

One of the best in the area. Good ale, interesting features.

The Nags Head, Belgravia

Worth a visit for the odd low bar, general clutter and good ale (in my opinion). The staff were very friendly to us and the no phones rule meant we had an interesting evening talking (yes, talking to strangers) with the other patrons. There's a big enough sign telling people not to use phones so I don't see how people can complain when they're remprimanded for it.

The Wilton Arms, Belgravia

Standard pub with no particular frills about it. Beer was fine although I see where the comment about clearing up has come from - they are quick with the wet cloth!

The Grenadier, Belgravia

It is in a super location and the beer is absolutely fine (if expectedly pricey). I would echo the comments about staff, having been there a few times over the past year. They're not rude as such, but a bit of enthusiasm added to this fascinating building wouldn't go amiss.

The King Charles, Kings Worthy

Four ales on tap here, and although we got one dodgy pint the lady behind the bar agreed with us and would happily change it. Other ales (Fuller's) of a good quality.

The Chestnut Horse, Easton

Visited on a Tuesday evening and had a very nice meal (Pigeon and Guinea Fowl). Good ale on tap as well. Although the food felt a little pricey it was of a very high standard. The pub itself is a lovely, old, well maintained affair. Would go back.
