Not enough room in the downstairs bar to fit everyone in on a Friday night - we drank outside by the Vidal Sassoon School until it rained. Staff and clientelle seemed friendly enough - they just need to clear out some of the formal eating space from downstairs.

The Eagle Bar Diner, Fitzrovia
Wannabe American style diner with a good range of burgers, and a less inspiring collection of pints, bottles & cocktails. Opens and serves food late-ish, but not as enjoyable as the nearby by Jerusalem.

The Salisbury, Leicester Square
Best pub in the area. Friendly staff and manager, good beers, fabulous Victorian interior. Sure it gets busy at the weekend and on a fine evening after work. Wait for the winter months and head there on a Tuesday night for a proper English evening!

The Duke of Devonshire, Balham
Enjoyable pub - late licence with pub prices and good vibe. Bottles of Young's beers for the discerning, spirits for the ladies and dull nitrokeg lagers for everyone else! Good music choice, nice lights!
