The White Hart, Whitechapel

Fantastic brew pub that has a wide range of beers brewed on the premises and also serves a number of well known brands including Fullers. Never eaten here but the food always looks good and there is a separate seating area at the back of the pub. There is seating at the front of the pub so you can sit and watch the world go by.Really good crowd. Staff can, at times, be a bit slow but friendly.

The Bear and Staff, Leicester Square

Used to love this pub but it really has gone down hill.

The service is really slow and the beer is not in as good condition as it used to be.

They also tried to serve me a beer that was about 20% short of a pint.

20 Oct 2014 13:11

The Two Brewers, Barbican

Great little pub with 3-4 beers on tap. Friendly bar staff and reasonable prices. Well worth a visit

19 May 2014 11:40

The Taproom, Islington

Great pub with a wide range of beers. They look as though they may have one beer on each day on special offer. Well worth a visit.

4 May 2014 11:32

The White Swan, Islington

Unless you're known you can't get served. Waited whilst others got served who'd just walked up to the bar. Walked out in the end. Wouldn't mind but it wasn't even busy.

26 Jul 2013 18:11

The Pheasant, Salisbury

Great friendly pub right next to the bus station. There was a beer festival on and there were about 12 beers when I visited yesterday.

28 May 2013 14:14

Ox Row, Salisbury

Nice pub right on the market square. Mainly Fullers beers but a few guest ales including Spire Ale.

28 May 2013 14:11

The Kings Head, Salisbury

Certainly one of the best Wetherspoons I've been in. Beautiful pub from the outside and it's only when you get inside that you realise it's Wetherspoons. There's a nice little patio outside overlooking the river.

28 May 2013 14:08

Deacons, Salisbury

Don't let the outside put you off it's a decent pub inside with 3 cask ales on when I visited. It also advertises having a good range of bottled beers.

28 May 2013 14:03

The Cat Tavern, Salisbury

Looked and felt dirty. Really could do with a spring clean. Posters are still up from UEFA 2012.Although there's a sign saying dogs not allowed after 2011 there was a big dog on the sofa.
The door was open to the kitchen which looked a tip.
It could be a decent pub if it tried

28 May 2013 13:59

Kings Head, Mayfair

Nice enough little pub with reasonable selection of beers. friendly service. Didn't eat there myself but saw others doing so and it looked good.

25 Apr 2013 15:11

Ye Old Red Cow, Smithfield

Great pub with a fantastic selection of beers. Reminded me very much of a smaller, posher version of the Eusto Tap.

Well worth a visit.

17 Apr 2013 15:06

The Rising Sun, Smithfield

Was really quiet when I visited on a Tuesday night.
Really nice interior with standard Sam Smiths ceer including hand pulled at £2.90 a pint.

17 Apr 2013 14:51

The Hand and Shears, Barbican

Nice little pub with old gashioned interior.

Good range of beers and decent beer but at £4.00 a pint it should be.

17 Apr 2013 14:47

The White Hart, Whitechapel

Good range of beers. I had the Youngs Gold which was in good condition. Downside is the attitude of the staff who seemed really rude.
Would give it another try to see if I'd picked a bad day.

7 Apr 2013 15:24

The Coach and Horses, Rickmansworth

Great pub with a good range of well kept beers. The staff were friendly and helpful.

There's a fanastic real fire in the bar area. Would certainly recomend.

8 Mar 2013 15:19

Wheatsheaf, Southwark

Great pub with a good range of beers all of which are in good condition. Good service with good staff and a good manager who came from the 'old' Wheatsheaf around the corner. Usually a bit quieter than the other pubs around here.

4 Nov 2012 19:10

INDO, Whitechapel

Great quirky little pub with a fantastic range of bottled beers from all over the world. Had a great wheat beer.Well worth a visit.

22 Jul 2012 00:17

The Blind Beggar, Whitechapel

Quite a nice pub with a good beer garden and friendly staff. Really good pint of Pride but at 4.00 a pint for a pub in Whitechapel will not be going back in a hurry.

22 Jul 2012 00:14

The Cos Bar, London

Really nice modern design. Well kept Celebration beer. It really is a suits pub but perfectly pleasent.
Big drawback is the service which was really slow wqhen we were there.

11 Jun 2012 11:14

The John Harvey Tavern, Lewes

Fantastic pub with fantastic beer. What more could you ask for.

25 May 2012 16:16

The Elephant and Castle, Lewes

Loads of TV screens showing sports. Friendly enough pub and well kept beer.

25 May 2012 16:15

The Mary Shelley, Bournemouth

Much better than the 'Moon in the Square'. It's not as busy and the staff seem keener to serve. It's a Loyds so it is a tad loud. The only downside is that they serve in plastic at night.

27 Apr 2012 14:50

The Moon in the Square, Bournemouth

It could be so much better than it is. The staff seem to just not care. It's possible to wait ages at the bar whilst other people who just arrive get served straight away. The pub is big on 2 floors with a large outside area on the first floor. The beer is good and a fair range. If you can go up the hill to 'Goat and Tricycle' it is far better.

27 Apr 2012 14:45

Goat and Tricycle, Bournemouth

An absolute gem of a pub. Went in on Wednesday lunch, a bit quiet at first but got busier as the afternoon wore on. Great range of beers and friendly staff. There were about 10 beers on. I tried Kite's Bluestone and a pint or two of Holt's.
Well worth a visit.

27 Apr 2012 14:30

Cinque Port Arms, Rye

Great little friendly pub. Went for Sunday lunch with wife and 5 year old. We were told there were no child portions available but the Sunday roast was very good and good value. At the end of the meal they brought a great big free dessert for our child. 2 beers on, Master Brew and Bishops Finger. I had the MB which was spot on. Really worth a visit.

19 Feb 2012 18:35

The Wellington, Waterloo

Used to really like this pub but just recently the quality of ales has gone down. Took a pint back on Friday as it didn't fast right. Was told by the manager there was nothing wrong with it and he wouldn,'t change it. After complaining he changed it for a very short measure and reluctantlyfilled it up only after further argument. Won't be rushing back in a hurry despite the fact that I used the pub regularly before.

12 Feb 2012 02:04

The Fire Station, Waterloo

Quite a good pub. Bit pricey but the beers are usually well kept. Service can be a bit slow at times.

12 Feb 2012 01:57

The Old Shades, Whitehall

It is a really nice pub but I'm afraid the service is poor. Although it was really quiet no please or thank you. I wouldn't have pointed this out but for the 'putting the record straight' comment below. The beer, admams broadside was'nt that good either and at 3.80 a pint it should be a lot better. Shame that this is what tourists will experience.

29 Jan 2012 17:33

Golden Lion, Rochester

Not a great pub.

16 Nov 2011 19:18

The Railway Hotel, Dartford

Nowhere near as bad as people are saying. I stopped here waiting for a train expecting the worse but really friendly bar staff. No real beers,Stella on stop so all not lost. Rather bizarrely they have most of their Xmas decorations up.

16 Nov 2011 18:05

The Chandos, Trafalgar Square

The great thing about this pub used to be how cheap it was, not that long ago it was less than 2.00 a pint, last week it was 2.11 yesterday 2.47. Although still cheaper than most pubb, if not all pubs, roundabout, I'd rather spend a bit more for a better beer and friendlier service

16 Nov 2011 15:16

Wheatsheaf, Southwark

Not very impresive from the outside but a really good pub. It's like a big cellar inside with TVs showing sports but not overly loud. There is a really good range of beers always in good condition. The staff are friendly abd efficient.

19 Apr 2011 18:13

Ye Olde Nags Head, Castleton

Great pub.

I visited in February with my wife and 4 year old. It was a cold day so it was great to walk into a pub with 2 real log fires. The service was very good with 4-5 good real beers on tap. The food was good as well and very reasonably priced. The 4 year old was given a colouring pad and won a prize for completing it. I would certainly go back.

19 Apr 2011 18:06

The Oxford Arms, Camden

Went there on Friday night. Good friendly service. They had London Pride and Deuchars on draft I had the Deuchars which was a good pint. A DJ stated some great old tracks. Really good atmosphere.

14 Mar 2011 12:46

The Wellington, Waterloo

Really is quite a good pub. The ELA was in top form. I really don't understand how anybody could feel intimidated in here, it's a friendly bar. Certainly handy for Waterloo.

26 Feb 2011 01:11

The Museum, Sheffield

A great little bar in the centre of Sheffield with a good range of beers. I visited on Saturdat and they had Abbeydale Breweries Brimstone on which was really good. Friendly service and not too expensive.

22 Feb 2011 17:03

The Faltering Fullback, Finsbury Park

Great pub with good service.

14 Jan 2011 15:37

The Cittie of Yorke, Holborn

Very impressive pub inside, normal Sam Smith's range of beers and normal cheap prices. Well worth a visit just for the interior alone.

10 Oct 2010 21:33

The Old Ale Emporium, Harringay

Great pub, great beer. Very friendly. Certainly would recomend.

20 Sep 2010 14:51

The Tamworth Arms, Tamworth

Really friendly pub with great service from one of the smallest bars I've ever seen. We orderd food and were warned there was a delay but it only took 5 minutes for the starters to arrive. The main courses were huge and very good value. Bonkers Conkers was the only handpump bitter but it was excellent. There is outside seating at the back but it's basically a car park. The inside of the pub is modern and clean and there's also outside seating on the road. Would certainly recomend despite limited choice of beer.

9 Sep 2010 21:44

The Market Vaults, Tamworth

Very disapointed. There was no food on when we visited and onlt 2 cask beers, Oxford Gold, which was OK and 1 other. The place only had about 1/2 dozen people in even though it was Saturday night. The staff were friendly enough. I would give it another try if I ever go back to Tamworth.

9 Sep 2010 21:34

The Lord Palmerston, Tottenham

Quite a friendly pub with good bar staff and now they've started selling real beer even better.

24 Aug 2010 23:08

The Angel, Angel, Islington

Can't agree with the comments about it being rough. Go in here a fair bit and never seen trouble. I think it's one of the better Wetherspoons. It usually has a good range of beers. There are certainly better pubs around here but don't be put off going by the negative comments if you just want a few good, cheap beers.

3 Aug 2010 18:15

The Hung, Drawn and Quartered, Tower Hill

Not a bad little pub with good, well kept beer.

3 Aug 2010 18:10

The Captain Kidd, Wapping

Great place for passing a summer evening, the large beer garden overlooks the Thames and London Docklands. It's a Sam Smiths pub so it's there normal beers and great value. Quite busy when we went on Friday but still good service. Would certainly recomend.

2 Aug 2010 12:09

The Town of Ramsgate, Wapping

Absoloute little gem of a pub. The service is very friendly and a fair range of well kept beers. The beer garden at the back, overlooking the river, is small but we manaed to get a table on Friday night. The interior is warm and welcoming. Would certainly recomend.

2 Aug 2010 12:04

Spouter's Corner, Wood Green

Probably the worst service I've ever seen. most of the beers were off when I went in however I didn't try any that were on as I gave in waiting after 15 minutes, despite the pub not even being busy. Staff seemed more interested in talking or stocking shelves than serving customers, Went across the road to the Goose and got served straight away.

30 Jul 2010 13:15

The Bankers Draft, Sheffield

Went on Saturday night 19th February. This pub used to be really busy but was almost desertrd when we visited. No atmosphere at all. The Brain's beer was on top form though. The pub is standard Wetherspoons and not worth going out of your way for unless you want cheap beer.

1 Mar 2010 14:46

The Ha Ha Bar, Sheffield

Good food, good service but no real beers.

1 Mar 2010 14:38

Roebuck Tavern, Sheffield

Always seems to have good beers and resonably priced food with good service.

1 Mar 2010 14:38

Sheffield Tap, Sheffield

What a great addition to the real beer scene in Sheffield. Very busy when I went in on a Saturday night. Large range of beers and very good service.Well worth a visit.

1 Mar 2010 14:35

Bierhalle, Warsaw

Agree with the previos comment about it being more like a restaurant but the staff are more than happy for you just to drink beer. There are about 4 beers on tap, I tried the Wies and dunkell, both very good. The food is also good and reasonably priced. There's also a TV showing live sports including English Premier matches.

1 Mar 2010 14:31

Browarmia Krolewska, Warsaw

Great bar with great beers brewed on the premises. The beer is a bit more expensive than in most oter bars, 12 Zloty for 0.4 Ltr but worth it. Service was good even though it was busy, we were sat at the bar though.

1 Mar 2010 14:17

The Port Mahon, Oxford

It is now open, went in last night. One real beer on tap. The manager was a bit rude to a fellow customer even though he was not at all busy.

27 Oct 2009 18:42

The Bullingdon Arms, Oxford

Went in last night not having been there since it was an Irish pub, my how it has changed. Still perfectly reasonable boozer with adverts for a number of live music events so that goes in it's favour. No real beer, that I saw but the Guiness was good. Friendly manager. Would recomend.

27 Oct 2009 18:38

The Hen and Chickens, Islington

good pub with good atmosphere but very pricey on food. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good pint of Pride.

3 Sep 2009 12:40

The Dickens Inn, Tower Hill

A tourist rap with over priced poor beer. We ordered food that took 40 minutes to arrive and was certainly not worth the wait. To be fair when I complained about the delay they did give us a free round. On the plus side it is in a great location.

25 Aug 2009 13:08

St Stephens Tavern, Westminster

Went in on Monday night. beer was good, tried a lemony flavoured one which was unusual but perfectly acceptable. Well worth a quick pint if only to see the interior.

25 Aug 2009 13:00

The Sherlock Holmes, Charing Cross

Went in on Monday night with overseas friends. It's an OK boozer, the staff seemed friendly enough. Had a pint of London beer, I think it's Greene Kings attempt to get London into the name of one of their beers, not bad. I did ask the barman if I could try a beer before i bought it but he told me the company had stopped this because of the amount of beer that was being tasted by tourists.

25 Aug 2009 12:57

The Lord Nelson, Sydney

Visited in November. Brilliant pub with an excellent range of beers the 'Blood' was particularly good. It's full of local Aussie's not Poms as it's pretty hard to find. I would certainly recomend searching it out, it's between The Rocks and Darling Harbour

7 Jan 2009 17:08

The Phoenix, Alexandra Palace

Great views, truly awful service. Went yesterday, only one cask conditioned beer on, Deuchars IPA which tasted awful (I normally like that beer) Ordered food and told the barmaid and was told she couldn't bring the food outside but that I should come back in in ''about'' 15 minutes Must admit the food was eventually brought to us minus cutlery and we were told that there was only one sachet of ketchup left.

29 Sep 2008 13:50

't IJ Proeflokaal (Brouwerij 't IJ), Amsterdam

My first visit to this place on 3/08/2008 and would thoroughly recomend it. I arrived before it opened (hours on a Sunday are 15.00-20.00 and I think that may be the same for the rest of the week as well) so I went for a few in the bar on the other side of the canal which also has a good range of beers.

There's a large outside seating area. The bar staff are really good and the atmosphere is very friendly. The beers are, like everbody says here top notch.

You can get there by number 22 bus from near Centraal Station or the number 14 tram which goes via Rembrandtplien. Well worth the short trip.

4 Aug 2008 11:13

The Flask, Highgate

Visited last Sunday afternoon. They had a mini cider festival with a wide range of bottled and draft ciders also a fair range of beers. The food was perfectly acceptable. Although I don't like queing for beer normally here it works well.

29 Jul 2008 17:41

The Southwark Tavern, London Bridge

Not a bad little pub with an interesting downstairs made up of little alcoves. Although the beer is not bad the problem is getting it, service, even when it's not that busy, can be awful.

8 Jul 2008 12:42

The Horseshoe Inn, London Bridge

A perfecty pleasent pub with a local crowd. As it's a bit off the beaten track it's not usually as busy as the pubs closer to London Bridge. A great place to watch sport.

8 Jul 2008 12:39

The Waggon and Horses, Brighton

went in on Sunday night nobody else waiting at the bar but waited 5 minutes to get served, no apology for being kept waiting. Nice pint of Harveys though. Would probably try again.

2 Jul 2008 12:52

Mabel's Tavern, Euston

Went in yesterday afternoon, very nice pint of Whitstable Bay although quite pricey at 3.10. Only a few pople in when I visited but the service was very friendly. There's a few chairs outside on the pavement ideal for us smokers.

25 Jun 2008 12:09

The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool

Brilliant pub with brilliant beer. The pub brews its own beer on the premises. I tried the Blonde, Summer Ale and a Ginger flavoured beer, all excellent. The bar staff were very friendly. Although I didn't eat there the people I was with did and said it was very good.

17 Jun 2008 14:22

The Bear and Staff, Leicester Square

A great little pub, 6 real beers with 2 guest beers always on and always in good condition, friendly staff. Only gripe is that it is often served with a large head but never any hesitation in topping it up when asked.

25 Sep 2007 15:44

The Bunch of Grapes, London Bridge

Just been done out, a great improvement on a great pub. It now boasts an expanded outside seating area. Still good beer. The service is still excellent as well.

17 May 2007 15:16

Young and Jackson's, Melbourne

An excellent friendly pub, handy for Flinders Street Station, an excellent range of beers, I recomend Beez Neez. If you're on your own you'll always end up in a conversation with one of the locals.
