White Lion, Sheffield

Lovely pub - great interior, lots of rooms/snugs and bigger open plan area to rear. Great choice of real ale, friendly staff. perfect really!. Worth the trip, only 5 in taxi from station... Possibly better than nearby Sheaf View!-inside it certainly is in my opinion!.

Signal Box Inn, Cleethorpes

"smallest pub in Britain" - but does a great selection of drinks and nibbles. Superb pint of Jennings Cumberland. Well worth a visit if in the area/taking a trip on the miniature railway!

Dog and Gun, East Butterwick

Well worth seeking out if only for the DarkTribe Brewery beers it sells. Excellent stuff. Staff friendly too!.

White Hart, Crowle

So much potential! A lovely old beamed pub (oldest on Axholme). Couple of real ales, normally Speckled Hen and john smiths. Food a tad expensive, but good. Biggest downfall?-Staff could be alot friendlier if they tried!

The Old Angel, Doncaster

Agree its best of 3 spoons pubs in Donny. Ex Yates buiding so nice and airy - upstairs bar seating too. Great choice of real ale. Very busy on fri/sat nights.

The Cumberland, Doncaster

Nice large pub, with superb beer garden outside. Bit expensive though and seems to be more food orientated now. 3 real ales, Greene King based.

Sheffield Tap, Sheffield

Anywhere that sells Thornbridge beers is a godesend!!

This is a great location and good pub. A superb choice of real ales from Thornbridge and others, as well as a great choice of foreign lagers on tap - most served in proper branded glasses.

Only minor criticism would be its a tad pricey and draughty!

Well worth an hour or six.

The Heartland Brewery And Chophouse, Manhattan

Worth a visit!

They did an ale sample tray - with 6 diffrent half litre glasses served on a tray. Nice beer and food very good too.

Not bad for such a tourist trap location

York Beer and Wine Shop, York

A little gem for those of us who do their real ale drinking at home.

Fair selection of ales including local breweries beers.

They had Thornbridge Jaipur 330ml bottles (1.99) - not 1st time I have seen this anywhere. Case of 24 in boot of car!!>....(with 5% case discount!)

Worth a visit.

Real ale fan heaven. Thornbridge Jaipur permanently on pump!! Lovely staff and a superb range of real ale and snacks to boot.

You MUST visit The Grove if in Huddersfield!.

Huge old building, recently refurbished I am told. Sam smiths pub, so excellent value!!

The Horse and Groom, Doncaster

Used to be O'Neills

Still has the Irish link thru its landlord, and its excellent food menu. Great value and quality.

Has 2 real ale pumps - normally Deuchars IPA and a brew from excellent local brewery - Glentworth of Skellow.

Worth sniffing out, not far from market.

Red Lion, Doncaster

Quite nice by wetherspoon standards. Usual food menu. Normally good choice of real ale - but the pumps are spread round the long bar, be sure to walk fully round!!

The Plough, Doncaster

A gem for real ale fans. Often other local beers in a ddition to the usual local Acorn brewery beer. No food though. Toilets are interesting.

29 Apr 2010 01:56

Gatehouse, Doncaster

Not too bad, but too busy on a fri/sat. Good choice of real ales. Usual food menu. Allow time to find the toilets....!

The Finningley Windmill, Doncaster

Fine for a pint and a bite to eat before a flight. Food menu is at premium prices compared to normal wetherspoons. 1 real ale (old speckled hen)

Horse and Jockey, Doncaster

Currently Closed as at April 2010

Railway Hotel, Doncaster

Very handy for station. But very limited real ales, and never any guests. No food either. Sitting on a gold mine of a location!! Worth a visit if 30 minutes to kill for a train.

29 Apr 2010 01:43

The Masons Arms, Doncaster

Great Real ale pub - with up to 5 pumps on. 4 are normally mainstream (eg Bombardier) and then 1 guest ale. Beautifully kept/served beer though, well worth visit!.

29 Apr 2010 01:41

The Leopard, Doncaster

Nice pub, but go to the right as you go thru main doors. Nice real ale choice, often with local Glentworth beer on.

29 Apr 2010 01:39

The Salutation, Doncaster

Superb selection of real ale (up to 8 pumps) - probably best choice in Doncaster!!

29 Apr 2010 01:37

Corner Pin Inn, Doncaster

A lovely little pub - just round the corner from the station and bus station. Serves lovely beer, with a great variety on its 3 pumps. A nice place to go for a few and putting the world to rights. SMall patio outside too for those warmer evenings or smokers!..
