Vintage, Croydon

wysiwyg,

I have indeed visited the bar (between 6 and 8) and that was the price i paid. Trust me, I remember clearly. I even pointed out to a member of staff that the price was ridiculous who agreed stating that this was what he would normally drink and he had actually spoken to the manager about the excessive price.

Perhaps they have lowered their price since my visit.

8.20 for a double vodka red bull......wtf.

Shame because if it had been a reasonably priced place it would have been a lovely place to drink.

The Crown and Sceptre, South Croydon

Great wee pub. The staff are all really freindly and make you feel welcome. Has a very comfortable atmosphere to it.

CVO Firevault, Fitzrovia

Fireplace showroom by day; restaurant and bar by night. Seriously cool place. They use the bar and restaurant area to showplace their fireplaces which are highly impressive and extortionate in some cases. Almost every table has it's own fireplace.

The food is supposed to be very good although I have not tried it myself and while the bar area is a bit expensive to drink in it is well worth paying the bit extra occasionally to drink in a place with such an cosy atmosphere and excellent service.

The Mansion, Gipsy Hill

Just opened in December 2005. This is a really nice pub with a cosy atmosphere and pretty smart decor. I believe it was formerly known as the Paxton but from what i can gather from word of mouth it has been made slightly more upmarket. The food and drinks are fairly pricy but mostly in keeping with the Crystal Palace type price range.

Overall a really nice place and well worth a visit.

The Builders Arms, Croydon

Best pub in Croydon for a beer garden in the summer.

The Black Sheep Bar, Crystal Palace

The Black Sheep is a great place. The staff are all really friendly as are the clientele. Good menu and varied range of cocktails and the atmosphere is highly pleasant. Would recommend to anyone.

The Sir Julian Huxley, Selsdon

Not too bad for a weatherspoons. Staff are really good at noticing who has been waiting the longest at the bar when the pub is busy as well.

The Porter and Sorter, Croydon

I also quite like this place. It's nothing special and it could be compared to the George a bit inside but the clientele are all far friendlier and the place does have a comfortable atmosphere to it. Just a shame about the prices!

The George, Croydon

Being cheap is it's only redeeming feature. Seriously characterless old mans pub!!
