Park Place, Mitcham

Cheap London Pride and Greene King but often its not on and they offer John Smiths and don't seem to understand why I say nooooooo!!! Not very well kept anyway and you have to try and ignore the loutish scaffolders who get in at the end of their work day.

The Moon Under Water, Balham

One of the better Spoons I have been in, Manager chatted about the ales and actually seemed to know what he was talking about!

The Windmill, Mitcham

Not impressed

The Goat, Mitcham

Decent pub. Beer is nothing special but drinkable.

The Queens Head, Mitcham

Went in as says Shepherd Neame pub .... took one sip of my pint of Spitfire and walked out as anybody who is willing to sell beer that poorly kept is not going to give a refund. Avoid!!!!

The White Lion of Mortimer, Mitcham

Its a Spoons and its in Mitcham ...... so not good. Having said that its where I go for a beer cos there's nothing better in the area. Moving out soon .......

The Fox and Hounds, Carshalton

Having declined to buy a pint in two other local pubs was heading for the bus stop and decided to stop in here. Decent beer and was offered a taster by the polite and attentive bar staff when I went for another pint. Nice pub.

The Coach and Horses, Carshalton

Walked out of the Woodman due to excessively loud music and found it even louder in here so did not go in .....

The Woodman, Carshalton

Walked in, was deafened by the way too loud rubbish music, briefly watched the barman spinning a tray in the air to impress a female customer rather than actually serve someone, walked out. Wont be back.

The Hope, Carshalton

This is without doubt the best pub in the area. Owned by a group of the regulars so run by real ale drinkers for real ale drinkers .... I would challenge anyone to find a better kept cellar! The oddball crowd is part of the pubs charm, nobody is excluded, all are welcome. No TV, no muzak, no game machines, just a proper traditional pub.

The Cricketers, Chessington

Clearly a locals pub but there's nothing wrong with that, nice enough pint of Doombar and polite, attentive bar staff. Comfy chair too ...

The Lucky Rover, Hook

The pint of Old Hooky I had here was a bit dubious but that may well have been me not the beer, will go back and try something else another day. Small comfy bar with a pleasant lively crowd. Barman slipped outside for a quick smoke and noticing my almost empty glass asked if I wanted another before he went which impressed me as it was my first visit. Will be back.

The Bonesgate, Chessington

Thinking of moving to the area and this is the closest pub. Decent enough pint of Young's and got chatting to a friendly local straight off. Did not try the food but priced were reasonable. Not a "proper" pub, big open bar like a Spoons, but seems OK and I will be back.
