The Ship and Whale, Rotherhithe

Gotta say this pub goes from strength to strength, food is quite simply the best in the area by a country mile and now the owners have invested even more money back into the business, last year they refurbed the kitchen and laid a new oak floor throughout the pub and now this year they've invested more money into the garden providing a very swish outside space with gorgeous rattan furniture. Service is always pleasant with friendly staff and good shepherd neame beers. For a London pub on the banks of the river Thames prices are very reasonable. Glad to count this pub as one of my local haunts. Keep up the good work guys!!!

The Coastguard Inn, St Margarets Bay

This pub is in a stunning location always visit when i am in the area. Staff are always friendly but I think during busier times they could do with an extra bar person. Food is very nice and the changing menu is always a treat. Been here on a busy summers day and on a cold January day and the view across the English Channel is always stunning.

Chance Inn, Guston

Lovely little country inn tucked away in the village of Guston. Good range of beers and nice menu. Locals very friendly and Roger the landlord made us feel very welcome. There's a 9 hole golf pitch and put in the rear garden and a pool table inside. Very very clean and tidy pub with a restaurant and bar area. Worth a visit if you're passing through!

The Two Sawyers, Canterbury

Wow, this is a hidden gem. Stumbled upon this pub over the weekend. Ben the new landlord has spent a fortune on the refurb and it certainly shows. The decor is stylish and very comfortable, plus with an outside courtyard it was a real sun trap over the weekend. We tried their speciality burgers and were very impressed plus they had a great range of beers and a good wine list, prices seemed very reasonable. Just wish this was closer to our home but next time we are in Canterbury we will certainly visit! Lovely and highly recommended!!

The Ship and Whale, Rotherhithe

This has to be one of the best pubs in the area. We went in for Sunday lunch last week and had a wicked meal, nice roast dinner with all the trimmings. We even saw the chef come out of the kitchen to talk to someone on the next table who had celiac disease and was concerned about what she could eat. The chef really impressed us with his knowledge and caring but most of all his cooking was superb. For friendliness, value for money and food & drink this pub knocks spots off all its local rivals. Definately worth a try. One handy tip, ring ahead and book a table as it get quite full on the weekend.

The Old Thameside Inn, London Bridge

we had leaving drinks and dinner for a work mate last week, the service wasn't great and the staff don't seem to know how to mix drinks properly. Such a shame as the venue itself is great, right alongside the river.
