The Drayton Court, West Ealing

My local, but becoming less so, the price of beer seems to leap up suddenly , recent 15p rise for a London Pride is an example.

The Dolphin, Dartmouth

Contemporary design made it souless and uncomfortable. Served me a frozen pizza which I returned and got refunded on, and my wifes chicken curry was bland. Avoid.

The Hamborough Tavern, Southall

Ha Ha, Ealing

A place for adults yet staffed by Gestapo and treat you like you are a prisoner, why?

1) Upstairs is shut for a certain time, when it did open we went up and were then told in an abotu an hours time to go down again.

2) You have to queue to go outside for a smoke, that's right queue, if you want to leave you go, but if you are a paying customer who is stying to spend some more and fancy a fag you have to queue.

3) if you do leave the day glo yellow jacketd rent a guard at the door barks at you if you are leaving or coming back in, if coming back in you have to do the above. You can't even leave in peace.

There was a cute polish barmaid though.

The Glassblower, Piccadilly

Went to this place the other day and first impression was "what the hell is that stink?". I suppose smoking in pubs was good as it masked the horrific odours of students and tourists. If I had farted it would have made the place smell better.

The Chandos, Trafalgar Square

It really stank when I went in there.

23 Apr 2007 18:13

The Hamborough Tavern, Southall

Possibly the worst pub in London.

23 Apr 2007 18:12

The Castlebar, West Ealing

Pricey. Staff are slow, surroundings are pretty ok, but I resent paying 3 for a guinness!

The Moon Under Water, Leicester Square

I feel like im drinking in a waiting room when dragged to this place. No atmosphere, but the staff do try their best.

17 Feb 2006 14:45

The Bear and Staff, Leicester Square

I like this pub, can get crowded (location, location, location) but it has some atmosphere, certain regulars, and good staff that make it a better pub than others in the west end.

The Polar Bear, Leicester Square

This is definately a no smoking pub now!

11 Jan 2006 09:01

Bar Soho, Soho

Awful seating, awful lazy staff, awful loud music.

7 Jan 2006 01:20

The Polar Bear, Leicester Square

This was definately a no smoking pub! Its the reason I used to go there (though I do occasionaly light up a cigar), it was nice to go to a pub without stinking of fags, other than that there is no other reason to go there, the guiness was always served a bit ropey as well.

7 Jan 2006 01:19

The Bat and Ball, Leicester Square

good for a footie game and a couple of pints.

7 Jan 2006 01:16

6 Jan 2006 06:54

The Plough Inn, Southall

The old irish landlord was great , could never unserstand a word he said but always had a lock in, new guy is great as well, looks after customers, gave free food out during chelsea liverpool match, nice little beer garden.

6 Jan 2006 02:27

The Lady Margaret, Southall

Used to be my local, but landlord let in a bad travelling crowd (always fighting and intimidating ppl), because they drunk everything dry, lots of locals including me never went back. Shame, on its day it can be a very nice pub.

6 Jan 2006 02:24

The White Hart, Northolt

Had beer glasses throwen at me when leaving a few years ago, reason? Won a game of pool and being asian.

6 Jan 2006 02:22

The Bridge Hotel, Greenford

Nice beer and nice staff, good little secret pub.

6 Jan 2006 01:54

The Railway, Greenford

Carverys nice, the bar next to is ok for a quiet pint, the other bar has nice fire, but its very dark, the tables are scratched, the local chavs hog the pool table, and have seen some unsavoury ppl in their.

On the plus, I live locally and some stunning eastern european girls occasionally attend (from the local ind est's).

6 Jan 2006 01:53

Black Horse, North Greenford

Great in summer, food's very bland.

6 Jan 2006 01:50

6 Jan 2006 01:39

The Elgin, Maida Vale

Was hunting for property in the area, popped in for a cheek pint and laughed my head off at the pretence of the clientele and how ridiculous and uncomfertable some ppl looked when sitting on those cube type things, how the feck are you supposed to enjoy a pint sitting on that?
