The Stag on the River, Eashing

Popped in with a small group near the end of a long walk. Nice enough pub. Decent selection of local beers is always nice to see, such as Shere Drop and TEA. Agree with most posters, food is overpriced IMHO. Staff were friendly enough, and the landlord(?) did change my friends Shere Drop for him after commenting on being cloudy. A3 noise is a bit of a pain if outside, otherwise lovely setting. Interior nice in a distessed modern type of way. Oh, and dog friendly, if any space inside, or water bowls outside.

The Bulls Head, Chiswick

perfectly acceptable chef and brewer. As they go, food was fine, beer was fine, coffee was fine (driver!). The Cloud was working too. Obviously this pub scores because of it`s setting on Thames. To be fair the staff were very good, even allowing for the fact it was a fairly busy lunchtime. Tesco vouchers came in handy as well! A tip, 4x value for Chef & Brewer if redeeming Clubcard vouchers (10 multiples).

The Royal Oak, Holmbury St Mary

was walking with some friends and our dogs yesterday in the area. was so disappointed with the service in The Parrot, Forest Green, decided to try this pub on way home. Smart move! Made very welcome. Service excellent. Locals friendly and chatty. Dogs were made a fuss of. Food was excellent value for money. All our drinks were good quality and fairly priced, Nice front garden to watch the world go by.And Sky sports to catch footie results etc... Will definitely use this pub again next time we are walking in the area. May even bring several more walkers with us. Well done The Royal Oak.

The Shoulder of Mutton, Hartley Wintney

Popped in here yesterday after a 7 mile walk with wife and dogs.
Very pleased with this pub. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Hogs Back TEA was in very good condition. Liver and bacon was well cooked and good value. Will definitely be back. Nice log fire burning away. A good old-fashioned, unpretentious pub.
Worth a visit.

The Red Lion, Chobham

Went in here for a pint and lunch today. Nice pub. Comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Hobgoblin and London Pride available amongst the beer selections. The cheeseburger was massive! Long time since I left part of a burger. Will gladly come back in when walking in this area. Well equipped and maintained garden. Oh, and dogs allowed in on the wooden flooring! Overall very good. Prices what you would expect in our part of the world for proper food and well kept beer.

The King William IV, Mickleham

A pub not to be missed. Can`t fault it. Parking is all part of the fun. Why not park outside The Running Horses and walk there (only 5minutes!). Walking party already booked in for October. Lots of local beers on offer. Food hot, tasty and arrived in good time. Try it!

The Golden Harp, Maidenhead

Popped in here during my lunch break whilst temping in the laundry opposite.
Beer was in good order, food was well presented and good value for money.
Young girl behind the bar was very friendly. Proper locals type pub, where you can have a game of pool, watch some footie and listen to some music. Some of us still like this sort of atmosphere you know. Life is meant to be fun sometimes.
If I do any more work over the road, will definitely pop in here for a quicky after work.

The Queen's Head, Dogmersfield

Had a walking party of 8, and stopped here for lunch. Very nice pint of Cornwall beer ( can`t remember the name of it, sorry!). Food was fine. Well cooked steak & ale pie, with choice of types of potato and bowl of fresh veg. The salad mains were good value. Bar staff were friendly and efficient (not to mention easy on the eye!). Prices were the same as the other 2 pubs in the vicinity. Worth a vist if in the area. Glad to see the grass had been cut, put me and the family off last time we saw this pub.

The Barley Mow, Winchfield

had a pint and lunch here today. good pint of Fosters. good selection of local beers available, such as Black Sheep. Also London Pride.
Very friendly. Lots of muddy walkers came in, with a couple of dogs, and all were welcomed. Service was efficient. Food was very well cooked. Not the cheapest, 10.95 for steak & kidney pie, with mash and green veg. But good value in this sort of pub. The landlord has changed the menu lately, and is using local sources for as many of the ingredients as possible. Worth a visit if in the area.
